LONDON - A family of holographic light beings, sculpting and drawing robots, an orchestral milk float, a giant vertical electronic wave and a special feature exhibition of work from the masters of kinetic art and the groundbreaking Cybernetic Serendipity show, are just some of the incredible exhibits at Kinetica Art Fair 2010, the UK’s only art fair dedicated to kinetic, robotic, sound, light  and time-based art, opening in London on Thursday 4 February 2010.

Davide Angheleddu will exhibit at the Kinetica Art Fair in LondonDavide Angheleddu will be exhibiting at this years fair with his fragile sculptures created using nylon and a process called laser sintering. Angheleddu graduated from the Politecnico di Milano Faculty of Architecture, a discipline joining technique and aesthetics. In 2005 he began to develop a personal conception of art moving from forms of nature. His inspiration comes particularly from nature sublimely described in the book Kunstformen der Natur (Art Forms of Nature) of the German philosopher and biologist Ernst Haeckel. This work, carried out at the end of 1800, contains over 100 prints followed by an accurate description of animals and marine creatures. Angheleddu’s artistic activity is tightly linked with technology.

          Feature Exhibition
A special feature exhibition dedicated to pioneering ‘Masters’ of kinetic and cybernetic art will be presented at the fair with works on loan from private collections and selected artists. Curated by John Dunbar (Director of indica Gallery 1965), Dianne Harris (Art Director, Kinetica Museum) and Jasia Reichardt (Curator of Cybernetic Serendipity. ICA 1968).

Kinetic art is art that has a life of its own.  Pioneered by world famous artists including Maholy Nagy, Jean Tinguely, Marcel Duchamp and Alexander Calder during the 1900s, modern contemporary kinetic and electronic artworks utilise and warp technology itself, to explore, nurture and comment on our evolutionary processes and challenge scientific and universal exploration.
