Salento International Film Festival goes to London
LONDON - The Salento International Film Festival (SIFF) is a celebration of films and filmmakers, promotes international independent films, in recognition of the fact that movies are the most powerful form of cultural communication and link between cultures’ and peoples’. Founded in 2004 by Luigi Campanile, the Salento International Film Festival emerged as a major cultural event and one of the top film festival in Southern Italy.
Each year it introduces filmmakers worldwide to the Salento area’s unique resources, while celebrating the history and the future of the film industry with 10 days of world premieres, special events, seminars, feature films, short films, documentaries, and all night parties.
On April 2 & 3, 2010 the Salento Int’l Film Festival (SIFF BEST OF THE FEST) goes to London at The Prince Charles Cinema with a collection of awarded films from the Festival. From cult festivals to the latest box office hits, the Prince Charles Cinema is the heart of independent film in London, located at 7 Leicester Place WC2. “Quentin’s favourite UK cinema“. Tarantino has said, “The Prince Charles Cinema is everything an independent movie theatre should be. For lovers of quality films, this is Mecca”.
SIFF BEST OF THE FEST is produced by CineSalento a cultural non-profit organization with the principal objective of promoting the territory of Salento through cinema, one of the most powerful forms of communication. This two-days event will contain feature films and short-films, Q&A with directors and cast, a welcome cocktail and a chance to win 4 trips to
